We can trace our heritage to the Pilgrims who landed at Plymouth Rock in search of religious freedom. Consequently, we cherish a person’s individual journey in faith. We regard Jesus as our Savior and Lord, but no subscription to a set creed is required for membership in our church. We emphasize the value of banding together for common worship and to help each other lead Christ centered lives. There are many interpretations of what Congregationalists believe, but central are two distinctive matters: personal faith in God through Jesus Christ and freedom to live in voluntary association with other believers.
These characteristics lead us to investigate our faith and determine how we believe God is leading our congregation. The Little Brown Church in the Vale is a member of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches and the Iowa-Nebraska Association of Congregational Churches.
